Abstract
This is a survey of events which happened in Russia during the transition period and of their consequences on the Russian educational system. It treats subjects like the role of money for education, aims of education, stratification of education in conditions of globalization, and relationship between education and economy. Finally, the problem of ``brain drain'' is considered.

Abstract
The article is devoted to the hundredth anniversary of great Russian scientist A. N. Kolmogorov. He made contributions to several fields of science and nearly all parts of mathematics. His contributions to mathematics are described here, classified as: results, ideas, theories and methods and concepts. Some results from other natural sciences are also presented, as well as his continuous work on teaching of mathematics.

Abstract
Die im Titel genannte Kurve wird mit elementaren, auf der Schule zugänglichen Methoden untersucht. Inhaltlich handelt es sich um Beziehungen der Raumkurve zu ebenen Kurven, zu Flächen und zu anderen Raumkurven. Ferner wird gezeigt, dass sich jede (hinreichend vernünftige) Raumkurve lokal durch die im Titel genannte Raumkurve beschreiben lässt.
